Yoonited, is your plan to bring in an industrial pencil sharpener, bring the trunk to a point and ship it down to Nottingham?

Griff,I think that you will find that Nottingham has a far more important and famous tree contacted with Robin Hood and that is the Major Oak in Sherwood Forest, that’s the genuine Robin Hood and not merely an American portraying him in a film

It's in the queue behind the marrow. Does anyone else want to add anything? Or perhaps start a crowdfunding page to buy Chalky a sense of humour, he obviously didn't twig the "sawdust for brains" gag on a tree related thread.

There was a news item about the Sycamore Gap tree today on the bbc and the first seedlings from the fallen tree have just started to sprout,it’s a shame what happened to the tree but the reporter was acting as though she was in a top secret war room reporting on there progress, they can’t bring the original tree back so to all intents and purposes they are just like any other sycamore tree, does anyone know what happened to the original tree and did anyone face charges over the cutting down of the tree?

I think there are two on bail for that Chalky, a father and son if I remember rightly.

There were four arrests, I think if they'd got any evidence someone would have been charged by now. Parts of it are going on display near to where it was felled.

I can’t see the stump regrowing again but it would be nice if it did but how long would it take to be fully grown again, well after I’ve shuffled off this mortal coil I know that
