Gateshead - we bind them closer

In the excitment of last few days this might have slipped past a few of us but worth a mention.

We know we're pretty tight with Gateshead with Iron Mike in charge and the loan deals and pre-season games etc.

But now we're getting them more cash - our U19s are playing their CL games at Gatesheads stadium as our trainning ground wasn't deemed good enough for it.

Really good to see the link up like this between the two of us.

Yes it's a great attitude from both clubs. Cast your mind around and can you think of two clubs anywhere else in the country within a few miles of one another where there isn't a single grain of animosity.

It's quite unusual but you will find the majority of Heed fans are also followers of the Toon, and conversely Toon fans like to see the Heed doing well.

Agreed. Great to see the positive relationship between the two clubs.

The two cities share a pretty good bond, too, a symbiotic one where each benefits from aspects of the other.

Don't let the mackems see this.. they have already claimed half of Gateshead is theirs and the Angel of the North..

They won't have it that Gateshead FC is in any way associated with NUFC

Hello Stranger , It was a good game to watch. Pity about the late goal and all of those yellows but they will come on for this.

And J, a good time to introduce the game to the "littleun"

It would be great if we could send a few more out on loan to Gateshead (plus other non-league or lower league local clubs) to get them experience and boost the squad’s of those clubs.
