That translates to "two pints of rough cider and a chunk of cheese" in darkest Somerset

Best part of the Alba coverage is the fact the commentator commentates in Gaelic but speaks to his co-commentator in English. 😂

agus tha Holt a rìs. ' chan fhaca e a-riamh e a' faighinn breab os an cionn. Dè am peach. Tha sin a' fàgail an sgòr mu dheireadh 6-0 ri Dundee United. A h-uile 6 amasan le Holt.

they say Iphone, Twitter and Facebook the same in all languages as they are brands

    Tanning Salon = salon tanachadh
Nail Bar = Bàr Nail ( I take your point )

Having said that, the Scottish word Doolally is derived from Indian languages as is juggernaut, Beserk is Norwegian and thousands of other. English isn't even the Scots language but the great thing about English is thats it's absorbed words from everywhere.

I wish all of the BBC commentary team spoke gaelic, then we wouldn't have to put up with the constant old firm f*cking drivel at every opportunity. Then again it would probably be that f*cking easy to predict it would feel like I'd learnt gaelic after all!
