    Arbroath cup match

Under normal circumstances, - I would be advocating that we bust a gut to proceed in this competition, - but given our injury crisis we cannot risk any further players being side-lined.

This is the ideal game for 'fringe' players to stake their claim, - and bust a gut in the process, - allowing our first team squad a well earned rest.

This will no doubt not meet the approval of many fans, nor the sponsors, - but it's not a case of asking for a 60% no risk attitude, - it's more asking the 2nd string to give 100% and in so doing perhaps shine brightly enough to come into contention every week.

    Thoughts?

Let’s get this game out the way and try start picking up points in the league.
IF we lost against Annan he’s history IMO.

I’d give one or two of the youngsters a chance to prove themselves this weekend. What we got to lose ?

Totally agree. The league has to be our main concern and we cannot afford to lose anyone else through injury. Use the squad to the full and you never know someone may surprise the manager in a match day scenario.

We certainly cannot risk those just returning from or carrying minor injuries in this match so another chance to grab a shirt for those on the periphery of the first team. Does anyone know if Lewis is carrying a knock as he changes the game every time he comes on as a substitute or is it his occasional lack of chasing back to help out the defense that Bartley doesn't like in him?

I still think Bartley has some sort of personal issue with him. We’re going to lose that young lad because of this imo. His dad is desperate for him to do well in the game & leave Queens.

    Good debate going on here.

It sounds as though there's an opportunity to clear the air on Saturday and try some new permutations.

Also sounds as though Marv needs to lose the "I'm right, - everybody else is wrong" mentality quickly and especially with young Lewis. If we were sitting top of the league and still in all competitions, - then you would be 'right' Marvin, but that is most certainly not the case!

Marv should also maybe consider donning the boots for Saturday, - as he has hinted at...................nothing to lose Marvin, - and perhaps a lot to gain.

A huge well done to the entire team and management today. At the very least we should have gone to penalties, and if only Kieren had put his boot through the ball with that gilt edged chance.
Houston, Brydon and Ambrose were magnificent and kept Arbroath out, while Gibson and McKechnie really troubled our visitors up front.
One question: why, when Lewis went off with cramp, did we not replace him with Walker?...........His pace would have upset Dick and his brother who were getting increasingly animated by fans close by.

Ambrose, Houston and Gibson need to start next week if fit.
