Marks and Spencer's have had to cut their Xmas advert and apologise because, although it was filmed in F3(kin August, their is an image of burning Christmas hats that are Red, green and silver.
This, apparently, upset the Palestinians because red, green and silver are "their" colours and it symbolises the burning of their flag.

    What utter bobhollux

    Indeed b ollocks!
So a company well known for having Jewish founders decides to not show an advert depicting only two colours (green and red) of the four in the Palestinian flag (the others being white/black not silver) for fear of upsetting Palestinians? I understand that the company might want to ward off any potential attacks on their business or staff but really?🤔😁

It's a well known right leaning paper but if true then such a march should certainly not be allowed to disrupt Remembrance day. Aside from showing great disrespect it would surely also only lose them sympathy from many "neutrals" for their cause in any case. No doubt organised by narrow minded ideologists who don't care about such considerations though.

The right to peaceful protest is one hard fought for in this country and one that we should fight to retain but there are circumstances and times when they should not be allowed-this is one of them. By all means, march to protest against Israeli treatment of Palestinians or march to condemn the actions of Hamas. But not on Remembrance Day.

An absolute sh1te of a Christmas ad, in fact its just a blatant attack on Christmas. M&S can eff right off for me. We have the mincing gay bloke sticking a toilet roll atop the tree then they burn Christmas cards, swatting elves with baseball bats over the roof tops, abandoning the family and family traditions and they are not even using the word CHRISTMAS instead they are using Thismas. Hopefully this wokey ad will lead to their xmas profits going belly up.

No doubt organised by people intent on fermenting trouble.

I really do not understand this agenda by the pc lot to try and replace Christmas with "winter holiday ". It's been going on for a while now and I remember it being a directive sent to the children's centre the better half worked in over 10 years ago.

Theoretically we are a "Christian " nation and even if the majority are in reality either agnostics or aethiests, celebrating Christmas as a festival is an integral part of our culture and history (the date itself more linked to the Roman pagan festival of Saturn than Christ's likely birth date). Do people really think that they need to "re-brand" it for fear of upsetting other religious groups? Muslims, for example, must be p issing themselves with laughter over this stupidity and can just see them re-branding Eid or Ramadan! Not.

As an increasingly multi-cultural society I have no problem seeing retailers, as an example, better reflecting their customer base with promotions linked to Eid, Ramadan, Diwali, Passover or whatever but this continued erosion of our own history and culture really f ucks me off😡

Now Barry council have cancelled Rememberance Sunday commemorations. This is a total insult to all those who gave their lives fighting for our freedom, to their families, to our armed forces and to our whole way of British life. Give it another ten years and it'll be banned everywhere, along with any mention of "Christmas".

This country has become an abomination of what it used to be. If somebody had told us fifty years ago what this country’s society would find acceptable and promote, we’d have just laughed and said, ‘Don’t be stupid.’ We’re not laughing now though.
