Loads of opposing teams fans didn't like Dave Bowman, and up to a point John Holt, and even Jimmy Mac. But.....all teams need 100% ers that take no sh*t.

When we were getting ragdolled from (well lets be honest) just about everyone. Would you have had JG in our team at that time?

I hated Mcoist in his prime, (for obvious reasons) If we had signed him, would I have been happy ? Hell yeah!!!

Wonder what sort of reception (if any) Big Dunc will get?

I would expect a polite round of applause as he comes out the tunnel and walks to the dugout. Thanks for the memories and £4m of oldco's swindled cash.

However, after that he's just annother opponent and can shut his pus.

He was great for us in the short time he had, but was unfortunately emblematic of the ‘new wave’ of players who Oor Jum tried to mould, unsuccessfully, using his previous methods. The likes of Welsh, Cleland, Bollan, O’Neil, McKinnon, Badger, Main, Connolly, Dailly, Preston etc as well as Big Dunc could and would have formed the basis of Jim’s second great team imo, if he’d managed to keep them together as he had done in the 80s. Regretfully though, times had changed, but Jim hadn’t and what had worked before didn’t with this new breed.

Dunc will get a great reception. I'm not sure he'll be arsed about it though. Don't think he sees his time at the club like some fans do.

I believe Tillson has been given the nod for the midfield berth.

Jim could never change. Jim was Jim. Smile portraid that beautifully.

Times changed. Player power, agents, more money etc.

Wonder how many players these days actually feel like they are playing for the shirt???

Respect to Big Dunc from me as the last United player to score a winner at Celtic Park. 🤔☹️

Ye what a stat that is. Boxing Day 92. 😥 who would have thought that 31 years later. Was still the old Tattiedome then.

With you there, hated the p rick as a player against us but as manager you can see his thinking, win the middle of the park battle first and everything else can flow from there. Championship level but think he's doing a brilliant job this far.
