You're right, he's had his failings at Championship level. That being said, I don't know why he failed at QPR. Did he lose the dressing room? Did he sign any players in the summer to play the way he wanted? I've got no idea.

I guess the point is, there'll be managers out there who won't want a relegation on their CVs and therefore won't touch us with a barge-poll. For me, Ainsworth (and you can include Leam Richardson in this) is still an aspiring manager with a point to prove. He'll do well again somewhere.

Talking of which, I read earlier that Oxford are interested in his services.

Oxford would probably be more appealing to him from a personal point of view because he has a very nice house in Buckinghamshire.
Also Oxford have a much healthier league position than we do.
Win win for him.

I would go for richardson me self if poss. Plays good footy successful in league 1 if we go down. Stevie would split the fan base and players on short contracts and not signing will just not put up with any potential abrasive managementnstyle if they are off soon anyway.
