I’ll tell you what frustrates me, and it’s not getting into the top two on a severely restricted budget so soon after administration, it’s not losing loanees or free agents. It’s spending and losing tens of millions of pounds on players before the present regime took control and getting nowhere. It’s paying millions in compensation to managers and coaches. When a manager takes the club into second place without a single major signing, whilst working within heavy financial constraints, I can totally accept a small percentage of signings that don’t work out. That doesn’t frustrate me, I commend it. Maybe no other Derby manager has ever acquired a player who has suffered serious injury soon after signing - oh, hold on I forgot about Bielik, Thorne etc etc. Maybe no Derby manager has spent a fortune on a total flop? No need to list those, it would take a week.
