Why did Forest Green get shown leniency for the exact same offence?

Maybe they thought Barnsley cheated but FGR simply made an innocent mistake?

Or maybe they thought Barnsley are a soft touch who will accept any punishment without protest. Whereas they wouldn't dare to have thrown out a big club such as Derby, Portsmouth or Bolton as they knew all hell would have broken loose. Those clubs would have been sent a strongly worded email telling them not to do it again. Or else.

It does admittedly seem a little arbitrary...but your citing of Derby, Portsmouth and Bolton as likely to have just ‘been sent a strongly worded email’ seems curious seeing as I think I’m correct in saying that those three clubs are amongst the most heavily punished in EFL history.

Not sure Forest Green are a big club though.

That's as maybe, but 'arbitrary' is putting it mildly.

I believe the rule that was broken was slightly different in each case and that FGR may have appealed where Barnsley didn’t.
Either way...it’s nowt to do with Bolton, Derby and Portsmouth who are hardly examples of clubs going unpunished.

I reckon if that chip on your shoulder / inferiority complex gets any bigger, Gunt, you'll tip over.
