Rotherham - Grinding 3 Points off Grafting Millers ?

Rotherham 'New York' Stadium has a 12,000 all-seated capacity with one of the best Championship pitch surfaces which is a hybrid Sis 60.

Leeds fans received 2,153 allocation for the 31mile trip from ER.
NO agreement could be reached for a reciprocal pricing deal for this fixture. 🙁
    £27 Adults.
    £20 60+ / Armed Forces.
    £11 Juveniles aged 13 to 17 years.
    £9 Juniors under 13 years.
Plus 16 wheelchair places made available.

Rotherham United, aka the Millers, will defo play with an 'up & at' us approach, trying to put us under pressure & generally making it uncomfortable regardless of the old saying that "league positions dont lie".

Not sure who'll start for us as the many away on International duty will not be returning back to ER until 48 hours before ko.

Rotherham are owned by 78 year old Tony Stewart who is the owner of ASD Lighting PLC, which is a local lighting manufacturer based in Rotherham.
He saved the Millers in 2008 when he brought the then L2 club out of administration via a Creditors Voluntary Agreement.

Before the Covid impact in 2018, Stewart was worth around £180m, which when you compare that to other EFL sides it isn’t huge.
So a promotion from L1,retaining Championship status last season & enticing a young Coach from Exeter to come up North was no easy task for them, for sure.

    Stewart commented recently.
"To do it right & stay in this league is tough. We've seen people who've made short-cuts & put money in & done certain things that cheat".

"They are getting players who they cannot support & when the Football League does the post-mortem, they'll get penalised" !

Coach Matt Taylor, appointed Oct 2022, likes to play a 4-3-3 & insists his team show what they stand for in terms of showing spirit & character with a noted "hustle bustle" approach. 😲
Away from home they often opt for a 4-2-3-1 approach.

WARNING - they do try to utilise set-piece moments including launching long throw-in's putting the right bodies in the right areas.

This season in the Championship Rotherham form is very poor overall 'tho with 2 wins, 5 draws & 9 losses, so far.

This performance currently places Rotherham at 22nd out of 24 teams in the Championship, winning only 13% of matches.
Rotherham home form is also poor with 2 wins, 4 draws & 2 losses.
Their away form is very poor as a result of 0 wins,1 draws & 7 losses.

Rotherham have scored a total of 15 goals & conceded 32 in this seasons Championship, they've failed to score in 57% of away games & actually failed to keep a clean sheet on all their travels away.

    Key players wise ?
Jordan Hugill up front could be key for the Millers although they smashed their transfer record to acquire the services of Exeter striker Sam Nomben in the summer transfer window to rejoin his old Exeter boss Matt Taylor & Nomben currently is preferred to lead the line ahead of Hugill.

Sam Clucas, now 33 is an ex-Swansea PL midfielder who joined Stoke for £6 million in 2018 & arrived at the Rotherham 'AESSEAL' New York Stadium as a free-agent from Stoke on a deal until the end of this season after a miserable injury hit 2022/23 season out with 2 hernia operations, so he's no mug to contend with experience wise when on his day.

Midfielder Tiéhi is a known classy neat player who kept his composure with a great finish to grab a 91st minute equaliser in their 2-2 result against Ipswich recently.

Their keeper Viktor Johansson, like last season, is often left exposed by his defence & saw 5 Watford goals hit the back of his net in their last match which saw them field a bizarre 5-3-2 formation in front of him !

After the Watford 5-0 thrashing Millers Coach Matt Taylor said "My worry is that's a group of players who aren't believing."

So hopefully WE can keep believing & continue marching onwards & upwards 🤗

    The Millers nickname ?
Comes from Rotherham’s strong industrial history of flour milling. Millmoor, Rotherham’s former home for decades, was at the hub of it.

They will give anyone a game at the New York Stadium , desperate for the win cos the abuse I got from family and friends when we have lost in seasons gone by has been absolutely ridiculous !
