Certainly not the country I grew up in, no ration books, rickets or polio. No credit cards of fancy calculators. no bl-o-o-dy mobile phones, and most of all, no tinternet. Still in many ways better then, you could play out in the street with out getting run over, or kidnapped by some Peodophile. There was discipline in schools or else you had a whack. While people were not so materialistic.
