    Are we good enough

We are pushing for promotion, but are we good enough if by hook or by crook we actually make it back to the premiership. Whilst I enjoy the better coverage and exposure we get in the premiership , I don’t want us to be embarrassed like we were with the yank. I believe in farke and I’m happy with how we play and pleased we are where we are, I find it incredible how he’s got us where we are, however it’s catch 22, I don’t see us competing with the likes of villa, Newcastle etc, even Brighton, Fulham are way above us, the bottom 3 we certainly are better than, I don’t want us in the championship for to long as we’ll lose many players, but if we go up, yes we can recruit, but can we compete?

We have about 14 players good enough for the Prem but possibly not to survive.

Will be interesting to see who will stay from the loanees - Sinisterra is good enough and quality so too Harrison (but that is an area where Summerville and others have stepped up).

Rodon is probably good enough but does Struijk have enough pace?

Left back is another obvious hole - Wober?

Seem to need a better Striker too.

Loving Rutter in the EFL but could he do it against Prem defences?

Suspect we would need a couple of the loanees back and then need to sign at least 4 quality players where we would need better.

Getting up could be more difficult than I thought; thinking Ipswich's good start was something that would fade but it's not happening just yet. I thought Midds would turn them over but they looked tired compared to their efforts against us and certainly in their win against PNE. It's still early doors and compared to the first couple of months of the season, we had 8 points from six games, Ipswich had 13. We really have improved with 16 from the last 6 compared to Ipswich with another 13). Six more games between now and 1st January, some tough ones, If we get more than 8 points I think it will good - however I'll accept 18 as a Xmas Pressie.

If we do go up, I’d rather go straight back down again, than take back any of the mercenary deserters we had last season.

The Principles of Leeds United are gonna be exposed big time if we make the run-in, imo.

Cannot say yes because tactically the PL has moved on to a new level quality wise.

What i've seen so far with the players we've put out, the tactics we've used then NO we wont be able to compete.

Maybe 3 regular starters of this season put into a team of better players bought in could hold their own with the "big boys" clubs but in doing so the playing for our shirt ethos will be lost again.

Only Meslier, Gray & Rutter & possibly Summerville can take further strives to become "consistent" PL exceptional footballers.

It'll need more than Bielsaball to make an impact next time who had basically kept the same Championship players competitive each week.https://allstatsarentwe.medium.com/t...r-a87eac5bc22d

Spence and Ampadu are probably good enough too.

Watched every game shown on MOTD (only option available), and disagree. We're nowhere near the top 10, but at least as good as the bottom 6. Meslier, Gray, Byram (if fit, I know big if!), Rutter, Summerville, Struijk, Ampadu, Piroe, Rodon, Gnonto (if we keep him), James and a return by Harrison, and some new blood (from the junior teams and transfers in), we would be no worse than Blades, Luton, Burnley, Forest or Toffees. All depends on the will to win, as shown by Everton since the announcement of the points deduction. We have been there, seen it, done it and got the baseball cap, no reason we can't do it again, only this times without being sanctioned by the FA.

It's a horrible league, can't wait to get back in the championship and start enjoying football once again. Unless you have billionaire owners the Premier league is not the place to be..

Some solid comments on this. so many have great points. Just dovetailing on some of them. No intent to plagiarize!

watching the lower teams in the prem can be a very painful experience. any of the top 4 teams in the championship are better than the the bottom 5 on most days. Everton is playing very well so they aren't even one of the bottom 5 teams I'm referencing.

I"d agree with the Billy in that I'd rather go back down than take any of the bentdicks that left because of relegation. Don't put Harrison in that catagory but sell him to everton to get a fresh start in the prem if we make it.

we still need a LB and striker. That gets tiresome repeating over and over the last 3 years.

I think Farke, Summerville, Ampadu, Piroe, Rutter, Gray, Rodon, Kamara, James, Strujik, Meslier and Byram are prem quality.

Agree 100% Alf, I am enjoying this season better than either of the last two. I think another season in this league, with some quality additions in the next three windows and then we would likely be ready to have a decent go in the Prem, If we went up this year without those additions then we would likely come straight back down IMO.

We dont have a Prem quality keeper, No consistent specialist left back, Not enough cover at center back - and would need to make Spence and Rodon permanents, Light in attacking midfield options, and need another quality striker, we also need to keep everyone we currently have as first team/bench regulars [Apart from Cooper, Ayling and Bamford] and we DONT want any of the mercenarries back to **** up the dressing room.
Only my opinion, but I am enjoying this season far more than anything since Bielsa.
