Certainly right to be. Not sure what your squad set up is like to play the Williams way. He has never been in a position at Notts where he has had to defend a lot. Certainly been caught napping this season a bit as a result of that. On balance Luke Williams will be a very good value worthwhile gamble for you though if he goes. He has a ton of fantastic attributes and I think it is inevitable he will leave us for a higher placed club at some point. If it isn't you then it will surely be someone else. I just hope we get an excellent payout for him and with our ownership we can as fans be confident that we will. Which can then be invested in getting us back into League One at some point in the next few years.

Yep, the same as happened with Burchnall.

Williams doesn't deserve any character assassination's. What he has achieved at Notts is simply fantastic. Birchnall scraped us into the playoffs with a boring brand of football and was really found out at Forest Green. Williams has put 1000's on the gate every week here and is head and shoulders above Birchnall. There is simply no comparison.

If Luke goes he goes, good luck to him. This is what happens in professional football. We lost IB and replaced him with LW, which was a very good deal for us. We poached Warnock from Scarborough and we didn't feel guilty about it, life goes on and Notts will go on.

I’m afraid the trust had gone. Any time any vacancy came up at a higher club LW would be connected to it and the fans would be split again. That’s no way to carry on.
Having said that, if he could convince us that there never was any truth in the rumours about Swansea AND Oxford then we could carry on. It would take some smooth talking though.

Prob this. As much as we rightfully thank him for returning us to the League. Once he's been linked heavily with another club, well, then even if that deals falls thru for some reason, the trust has somewhat been diluted. If it was to fall thru over compo or whatever and he carried on, would his heart still truly be in it?
