I just don’t get it at all - slows play really one footed on wrong wing and shouldn’t be starting games.

Yes he is slow and cannot beat a man on the outside whether he plays right or left. At least on the right when he comes inside he has the ball on his good left foot and hopefully can make a good pass. This would not be the case if he were playing on the left. There are at least five teams in the PL playing left footers on the right
