Legend is an overused word nowadays but in this case not an absolutely fabulous player and didn’t do too bad as a manager!
As a kid i classed him with Cruyff and Pele as legends now sadly all gone
Majority of today’s so called stars couldn’t lace his boots
    RIP

Tremendous footballer - great in defence but could also bring the ball forward and pass as well - one of the first ‘complete’ centre backs I recall seeing - think Bobby Moore was similar in that respect

An immense professional player of the highest order. 1974 was a very memorable year and he was probably one of the top five players in the World at the time. Thing is, his kind of position on the pitch didn't mean he always got the better media recognition.

The man put himself on the World map of players throughout his career and truly deserved the accolades he eventually and rightly received.

RIP Sir, you were a legend.
