Happy New Year! I suspect that unfortunately the Clarets will be relegated by the end of the season but we have a young squad with a young manager and there are good reasons imo to be more optimistic for the longer term future of our club. My New Year wish would be that VAR is scrapped but the only way I can see this coming about is if fans turn en masse against it as they did with the European Super League when it first crawled out of the cellars of the “elite” clubs into the light of day. The ESL concept has of course re-emerged with fixes from the mauling it received then but it is (though it still claims to be in the interest of fans) merely a vehicle for the filthy rich to make even more money from the game you and I love.

Happy New Year to all Clarets fans. To the regular contributors, keep it coming. To the “readers” who don’t contribute - don’t be shy and give it a go. Opinion is the life-blood. Everyone counts on here.
