Birmingham were in 6th place when they unceremoniously dumped the excellent John Eustace so they could bring in Rooney. They now are in a precarious 20th place. Not the first time this has happened at Birmingham City. Gary Rowett was given the heave-ho to be replaced by Gianfranco Zola. Owners are chumps and I have no sympathy for them. Where are you Jasper Carrott?

The question is not why they sacked him but why they employed him in the first place, Rooney Tunes stuff.

Exactly, the madness was sacking Eustace when they were in 6th place and giving Roo the job. File Rooney alongside other members of the Golden Generation who can't hack it as managers, Neville G, Lampard, Gerrard and Neville P.

He did a decent job at Derby and also in the US, I could not understand however, why the Blues sacked Eustace in the first place.

Not sure how you work that out mon ami, he had a losing record at Derby and in the US, and he's been an absolute disaster at Birmingham. It's not often fans will turn on a manager after just 15 games but Birmingham fans have.

They wanted a 'name' and chose Rooney because of his standing in the game as a player. They did the same with Zola, although I think that those were the previous owners.
It will be interesting to see who they plump for next.
