Aye, she's done well for a Lancashire lass, Happy Valley was excellent.

Think she’s been offered Hollywood rolls hence no more happy valley - she’s gone for the milk and honey.
    Good actress though.

When I started going in pubs I remember snugs occupied by women like Ena Sharples and Minni Caldwell. Masseys was 1/10 a pint. You could go out with a 10 Bob note and have a great night out - chips on the way home!

In Bacup we used to drink Thwaites Mild, only 1/9, ditto with the chips (and gravy).

I don't know about that Swiss, when I started at St. Ted's I got the impression the Burnley lads and the teachers all thought we were from the Boondocks with an accent to match.

It is sinky, so you've tasted the dark delights of an evening in Bacup and lived to tell.

Oh yes Chris, I could tell many a tale about Bacup, but I'm not going to. The Flowers up Tod Rd, which I don't think is there any more, was a particular favourite, quiet and out of the way, if you know what I mean.
