Top top man. A joy to have had in our team. I wish him every success in whatever he does in the future.

Sad that time caught up with him so quickly but he will always be fondly remembered not least for the Ayling flop.

Up there with Andy Hughes club as giving his all.

Just watched Luke’s first interview on the Boro OS. He looked and sounded nervous and you almost feel his pain at leaving us. Like all aging footballers he just wants to play for as long as possible, if not at Leeds, he’ll give it a go elsewhere.

I found it a hard watch. Hope he settles in and enjoys his time there.

I saw a clip of that as well. It really depressed me. For someone to see the end of the line coming and trying to give it a go elsewhere.

A superb statement and signing off from Luke ayling, brilliant memories of him and bielsa era, good luck to him, honest and genuine guy who loved Leeds, wish he’d stayed.

Would agree with all the comments.
He chipped in with some important goals too.
Unfortunately the ‘age thing’ happens to everyone.

Still madness to let him go though, without adequate cover and competition.
(Unless someone knows something that the rest of us don’t)

As if we would let him go without already having a replacement lined up.......

Yep sad his legs aren’t quite what they were - in the promotion season and the first season in the prem he bombed up and down the flank and I think at one point he covered more metres than any other full back in Europe.

Times like this I miss Orta. He’d have had 10 for the future signed already
