I think bringing players in will be harder than you think, bottom of the league, small squad and tight budget. Don't forget we also have that bloke Douglas doing contracts, the Boycie of professional football. I think it will only be sticking plaster in january and a complete rebuild in the summer, so much crap in the squad. Credit to MT though for bringing in Christ and Nombe, I think they look the business and in a well run L1 team will shine.

On Fred I think a clue was in with what LR said other week to the medical team in words something to the effect of “ I think he she should be really making himself available “..hinting that he was stringing out his recovery from injury..

Was going to bring that up but thought others might think I was being too hard on him. Thanks for posting it.

Unfortunately we are a very very unfashionable club so Attracting players to Rotherham must be especially difficult even if we’re in a decent league position and offering competitive money.
A few of our ex Managers have said players just won’t come and play for Rufc. I’m sure quite a lot of the 30 or so MT tried to attract were never going to join us regardless of the salary.
I’m sure the historic social problems hasn’t helped either

    Not necessarily ELK.
Some new build apartments are overpriced and although rental income may appear to be ok (so long as it’s paid!!) there’s probably not a lot of long term potential for that type of investment.
I prefer to buy older (well built) stock to “ do up” and rent or sell - not for everyone - can be risky if you don’t know what to look for.
That’s from someone who’s “day job” is building new build apartments & student flats!!

For those who can't open it.

As for Fred, I caught up with the medical team last week and with him. Its important we make sure the individual is doing as much as he can to get back to fitness.”

I think it is hard to recruit but not sure historic social problems are a factor for footballers who generally aren't the highest on the intellectual scale, also are rotherhams social issues any worse than other northern towns? I think it is money and not wanting to be on a losing team, people on here criticise Evans for all the players he brought in and now we say nobody will come, we can't have it both ways. Money and league position are the two biggest factors. I also don't think the modern footballer has as much fight in them as in previous generations, they have been spolit in those academies and want an easy life.

Yes there are towns with similar social issues Rochdale and Oldham for example, but they are similarly struggling. The Asian ***** stigma is far from helpful.

As for players, I'm surprised that Kelly is still here and not out on loan. We seem to be paying a wage to an inactive player who is showing no real signs of improvement
