Suppose we just give up buying stuff that has to go through Suez. That would mess with the Chinese etc. Be interesting to see who sorted out the pirates then.

It was stated tonight on the BBC News that 19% of oil plus LNG destined for the U.K. is transported by sea through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.

It's knee jerk militarism that failed in Libya Afghanistan Syria and Irac and Iran. Heaven help us if we are supposed to be partners with the USA in this endeavour.
If the Houthi’s gain total control of Yemen they will end up fighting amongst themselves with different tribes and warlords trying to be in charge.

Was in London with my brother. Came out of Ronnie Scott's after closing. Got into a taxi who refused to take us back to our hotel because it was literally round that corner. We thought he was having a larf and argued that we wanted him to take us to our hotel. We won and as we got out, round the corner, his parting shot was " Jeezo, you Scots would fight with your porridge"
Agree Scots prefer to disagree as a default position

Somewhat different. Nobody else rushed to take over the running of Dundee Football Club after we exited Admin 2.

Point being made was that we fell out and created the conditions that led to FPS being invited to bring peace. At least that's what I thought Noahrab meant.

But there was never a fall out that created the conditions that led to FPS being invited in. The split happened because of the interest being shown by FPS. A group wanted to explore the proposal whilst others (mainly those actually in positions at the club) wanted to protect their own interests and were willing to show no interest in any buy out proposal. Those interested were then supported by a 'breakaway group' of Dee4Life members and eventually the breakaway group prevailed and the self preservation society lost the Gardyne vote.
