Do you really think the FA will do anything Rev..? 🤔 No chance !
In the sh1t big time by the looks of it!
Both charged by the FA for breaching financial rules.
Both clubs facing points deductions for breaching profit and sustainability rules.
Everton look set to have a new one ripped with compensation claims from a few clubs as well.
When chasing the dream becomes your worst nightmare........
Do you really think the FA will do anything Rev..? 🤔 No chance !
The two clubs have admitted breaching the rules - although both have "mitigating circumstances" but the FA have stated punishments will be IN season from now [Agreed earlier this season] that is why they have already got the financials that they didn't get before until April - so its looking like IF they are found guilty the punishents will be for this season not next,
A bloody good reason to make sure of promotion this season as if they do go down it will be a bloody hard season to get up next season - and some of the weaker teams from thsi seasons Prem will still be up there to help promoted teams stay up.
The investigations seem to take forever too.
Wonder if they will try and join up with City and run some of their arguments too.
If you have ever read the rules, they aren’t the greatest piece of drafting ever and possibly they are competition law arguments against them.
Of an owner is willing to pump money into a club, underwrite costs arising and write it off then not sure why that is such a bad thing as club can’t go bust.
The system does seem designed to keep the old elite in place and make it difficult for any outsider to challenge that.
Not sure City’s spending is any worse or better than the periods where Liverpool, then Man 7, then Chelsea would just buy up all the best talent without any consequences (it’s just the sums have got bigger).
The recent EU case about the super league break away will be interesting in terms of the comments about competition law.
Not expecting anything to benefit any of the relegated teams
Is this extra and above Evertons already points deduction?
Correct separate issue
they will be thrashed and trashed. They are non "super league" teams.
However, anyone that thinks that the big 6 will ever be punished probably will have a very long wait.
FA's real problem is teams like Newcastle that have been bought by big money owners and want to go for the title. I have little doubt that the FA will beat them like a red headed step child if they get the chance. Can't have any uppity new comers disrupting the status quo.
Glad to see someone other than us get shafted, that 15 points we were deducted back in the day was a disgrace, especially when most if not all the clubs in league one ganged up on us, deduct forest, Everton (more points) and Man City (that will never happen, sheiks have deep pockets). Make them squirm.
