    Jake is a finisher

Clear from that why we signed him. The National League in England is a high standard. Not so clear is why we use him as an isolated target man and smash aimless balls over his head.

His confidence is low due to the manager and playing the loan striker position.

Wouldn’t disagree. It’s clear from the video he thrives off creative play that allows him to run behind or make movement in the box. A goalscorer not a target man.

I’ve seen some signs he can play. Kelty away when he scored, Falkirk at home he did well after Gavin went off injured early. Dundee in extra time. Against Alloa he showed glimpses of good link up play and won us some free kicks.

However, to get the best out of him I’d like to see him paired with Gavin when he’s fit and let them forge a partnership. I feel Gavin would benefit from this as well, with Gavin linking up the play coming short and Jake running behind stretching teams and both getting in the box more often!

Totally. Also think the fans have been taking their frustrations out on him. He has only had limited game time and can't be close to match fitness. Still a young guy, 21. We need to give him a proper crack at the whip.
Get the ball to him in the 18 years box and see how he does.
On Saturday we take didn't create too many chances. That was without a doubt our office on Saturday.
Let see what he can do with the ball Infront of him.

Yes that makes sense, because we’ve been so good when he hasn’t been in the side it must’ve been down to him when he was 🤣

Late in the game Saturday he was brought down and he cramped up. It wasn’t seconds later Lees ball went across the box with no one there and I felt at the time had he not just cramped up it’s likely he’d have made that.

Big challenge moving from the South of England. Kids probably not seen family for months and adjusting is hard enough without it being a difficult period on the pitch too.

Give him some time. If the clips are anything to go by we have a goalscorer in waiting.

People forget the human side of football. How many people still perform at their best when people, who are there to back you up, tell you in no uncertain term you can't do your job. It's a very poor approach to motivation. It turns my stomach to be honest.
Give the opposition stick but not your own.

Hopefully we can create some chances and Jake can be slot then away.

Today would be an ideal time for the managers signings to start scoring as this game is the first of a run of 4 away matches with only Hamilton at Palmy in a fortnight !

It would've been had he not waited until we’re a goal down before reacting once again. Let alone offering two other attacking players a mere 3 mins to affect the outcome.
I'm sure we'll continue to play a one up front 6 man midfield or a 5 man defence and spend more Saturday nights scratching our heads at why we struggle to score goals and rarely win games.
