Not sure about the arithmetic so would welcome some indication of the number of boats involved. 30000 boat migrants. Is this correct? Say 30 people per boat. That works out at 1000 boats. If we can create shortages in milk, toilet paper surely there will be a way to create a total shortage of inflatables.

The French police should do their job properly and stop the boats leaving the French beaches in the first place. If they properly policed the beaches where the shortest crossing is to the U.K. that would force the gangs who organise these illegal boat crossings of the English Channel to make longer crossings.
This might deter the illegal migrants from handing over large sums of money for a longer and more dangerous crossing.

The RNLI could suffer a fall in donations when people realise that the RNLI boats are providing a free taxi service for illegal migrants who get into difficulty crossing the English Channel in flimsy boats.
