JAQ, Flats and Den have all given their support recently from the ownership and executive level to Jess Horsley's women.

That could be crucial as we enter the run in

Training Pitch 2-00 pm KO. Free entry for this fixture.

Go Well the Feminines of Barnsley FC !

    Barnsley 4 Sunderland 1

Outstanding win takes Barnsley up to third, a point behind Wallsend, who have two games in hand.

As the dust settles on the dramatic events on Grove Street yesterday it is time to reflect on the league table---

    ....Team.............P...W...D...L...Pts

    1 Wallsend........14...11..2..1...35

    2 Spennymoor...17...12..1..4...34

    3 Barnsley FC....16...11..1..4...34

Just six games left for Jess's Feminines to clinch the one promotion place. The whipping girls from Redcar visit the Training Pitch fortress on Grove Street next Sunday whilst leaders Wallsend have a tough home fixture against second placed Spennymoor at Kirkley Park.

    Go Well Jess's Feminines.

I believe the next tier up, the fourth tier, is semi pro but the scope is there for Parekh to bankroll the club with relatively high part time wages for that league to attract the better players.

The new CEO could use his influence to make good on the failed promise to use the main Oakwell pitch as fixtures allow. This coming weekend has no Men's game. On the other hand the Astroturf surface may be proving an advantage in home games.

For clarification Spennymoor's record includes a 3 point deduction

The attention of fans down Grove Street way is quite rightly focussed on Jess Horsley's women this weekend.

Opponents at "The Astro" this Sunday, Redcar Ladies, should get a reyt seeing to by the Barnsley Feminines. Redcar are ripe for the taking, down near the bottom, lost their last five in a row, their last game a 0-7 spanking. Given the gulf in form, class and quality of the two sides it is quite possible that the Barnsley strikers could fill their boots, leading the charge to a double-figure goal tally.in this match.

Maybe another nail in the league leaders Wallsend's coffin as they are involved in a tough fixture against Spennymoor. Wallsend seem to be the only team able to snatch the one promotion spot from the Women of Grove Street.

The support the women get from Flatman, Sormzy and Hough is coming through on the pitch and is appreciated.

It's FREE entry to this fixture. Barnsley FC-v-Redcar Ladies, Oakwell Astroturf Training Pitch, Sunday March 24th KO 2-00pm. Please get there early. Bring on the goal fest !

I'm not going to start a separate thread because I think it ties in very nicely with our Ladies team and what the new CEO brings from York Knights in Rugby League .

These two short documentaries may offer a glimpse of what's coming down the road at Oakwell as the Ladies team hopefully climb the leagues .
