I did think it an odd decision for Flatman to move from being Chairman at York to initially becoming Revenue Officer at Barnsley pushing the Oakwell Sunday Carvery but he soon became interim CEO and then full CEO. He clearly did well at York and was well respected in Rugby circles.
Hopefully he can provide the base for the Women of Grove Street to push up through the Women's league pyramid.

Pivotal day in the Womens' NE Premiership.

    Barnsley 4 Redcar 1

    Wallsend 2 Spennymoor 3

Barnsley put bottom club Redcar in their place but the big result is leaders Wallsend home defeat to second place Spennymoor

    .........Team.........P W---D---L--GD--Pts
    1 Spennymoor 18...13...1...4...29...37 (3pt deduction)
    2 Barnsley ...... 17...12...1...4...28...37
    3 Wallsend.........15 11... 2...2 17...35

22 games in season, 1 team promoted.

It's all coming down to Barnsley's final four games against top seven clubs Wakefield H, Sunderland A, Wallsend A and South Shields A after another "easy" game next up against Alnwick A.

All as tight as a camel's arse.

Promotion in sight for the Women of Grove Street.

Edit -------- Students of the calendar will have spotted that the 10th April is, in fact, a Wednesday. The league has a programme of fixtures that Wednesday afternoon/ evening, presumably down to the extra hour of daylight but the league returns on Sunday 7th April when Barnsley make the long trip to Alnwick. 30 odd miles south of Scotland.
A road side cafe going north from Alnwick has a sign, "Last Salad for 120 miles".

Horsley's rampant Reds travel to just south of the Scottish border on Sunday taking on Alnwick Ladies.

Discussions are ongoing as to whether Parekh should fund a Saturday overnight hotel stay near Alnwick for the squad and assistants as it will be a 3 and a half hour journey pre-match on Sunday morning.

Equality Advisers are claiming it would be unthinkable for the Men's Team to travel down to Charlton Saturday morning. JAQ will have something to say on this.

Something to eyt could be left in the fridge Setdi, ironing done Setdi morning and kids left with Grandparents ovvaneet. Pub Sunday lunch and then wait for meal to be made on her return Sunday evening.

    MATCH POSTPONED !

Kathleen strikes with high winds and heavy rain in and near Scotland (no change there) has led officials to postpone the scheduled Alnwick-v-Barnsley clash this Sunday afternoon.

Spennymoor go three points clear at top with a 6-2 spanking of Wakefield.

The Official Website promoting this Sunday's game at home to Bradford as a League Cup Quarter Final gives the impression the women have been on a long cup run to get this far. In reality only 16 teams entered the competition so this is our second game.

Nevertheless every game is important to Jess Horsley's Feminines and winning is a good habit to maintain.

Fans are advised to get down early to The Astroturf on Sunday 2-00pm KO. Free entry.
