Imo. If we get a players like nombe, Humphrey bramhall ect either offer a 4 year deals upfront. Or at least a 3 year deal with a 1 year extension.
Young players under 21 offer 2 year with 1year extension and old players 30+ 1 year with 1 year extension.
There is always going to be success and failure in signing players but at least we would get lumbered with players like eaves on 3 year deals.
I like the Peterborough idea of any player is offered a new contract 18 month before the end and if they don't sign then they are sold. Again it's not a perfect scenario but it would stop fans moaning at loosing out on chio type money.
What we get for selling the players is a different discussion
