    Retained List Out

No real surprises I don’t think.

Would’ve liked Williams to stay but not too fussed about the others.

Mentioned in the coach thread, we’ve got a big summer ahead to get the right players in that will fit straight into the team.

Barnsley FC Sporting Director, Mladen Sormaz, said: "All five of the senior players leaving at the end of their contracts have served the Club with distinction and can leave Oakwell knowing they made a difference on and off the field.

"When given the opportunity, Robbie gave everything he could for the shirt, Nicky was involved in some pivotal moments, Herbie got the Oakwell crowd off their feet on many occasions and Devante scored some crucial goals for the Reds over his time at the Club. A special mention for Jordan, as a player he has been great, but as a captain and a leader he has really excelled. We wish them well for the future, I am sure they will always be welcomed back to Oakwell.

“This message is extended to Conor, John, Jamie and Liam who have always represented the badge with distinction and for our academy players who have shown a fantastic attitude whilst with us.

“I want to reassure fans that we are working hard to bring in some new faces who can help us achieve our goals next season and beyond."

Surely that should read "off their arses".

Yeah… He’s been good this season and was decent last but not sure he’s justified the funds we’ve spent on him.

Well player wise we are now left with virtually £ nil value to sell for the first time for many many seasons.

We really are becoming to look like an established 3rd division side.

I used to look forward to being at Oakwell for our first game of a new season, but it would take some real intent by our board to bring in a good new coach and some experienced and emerging talent to the club for me to buy a ticket.
