My mate Leeds Pete says Benson will sign for Dirty Weeds today. WTF are we doing?

Who do we think we are, Manchester City?
They have to find the money from somewhere to pay off the interest on the money they've borrowed, loan fees might just about cover it.

Not all acquisitions work out though. That is the reality in all walks of life. I am sure that many on here will be able to name high profile, big money signings that have not worked out. Manure and Chelskie spring to mind.

I previously worked with a F1 Champion who told me that in the world of motor racing only 1 in 10 drivers make it to the hot seat. It doesn’t mean that they are bad drivers - simply that is very, very tough at the top.

VK has echoed the same - not all acquisitions make it. Burnley FC is no exception.

If we can make a profit on selling him, that is a positive, surely.
Potential might explain the acquisition Swiss, but you've surely got to give the player the opportunity to realise that potential ? We have had no more than fleeting glimpses of Churlinov, as Sub points out in post 3, just one League start and less than 400 minutes playing time in total. Quite simply the lad has not had a chance to realise his potential, which brings me back to my original point, if you're not going to give a player the chance to show what he can do, then why sign him in the first place ? Or to put it another way, if we know after less than 400 minutes playing time that Churlinov is not good enough, then I'd be expecting the clown that sanctioned his signing to be getting his P45.

And it's not just Darko, we have another one in Massengo, a regular in the Championship for Bristol City, playing for Auxerre against PSG last back end, but can't get onto our bench and lucky to get a game for our Dev Squad. Just what is he doing here, if he's not going to be given a chance, why have we signed him ?

Head scratching seems to be all I do these days mon ami. Ramsey, Massengo, Benson, Zaroury, Muric and Jay Rod must all wonder what went Pete Tong.

Yet other players are given more than enough chances and are still useless like Vitinho.Has he really showed any reason not to loan him out also?

I think if we played him wide right in a 4-4-2 he'd be fine.

I'm not at all certain why VK thinks the lad is a better right back than Roberts though.

Just a word on Daarko moving on, he will certainly find life a lot easier in the Bundesliga 2 than in the PL.
Having said that, he is joining a Schalke team that are in 14th place in an 18 team league. They are just 3 points above the teams in 16th and 17th places. They are 16 points behind the leaders and there are 16 games left to play this season.
Certainly a chance to make a name for himself and I wish him well.

He cant trap a bag of sand Bt he’s a reasonable championship player at best - I never like saying that about players as you know my views he wouldn’t be here if he hadn’t made the level.

However and he s not on his own - when teams to come to us they kill the ball dead like it’s second nature - we however let it get a yard away from us and it’s like taking candy from babies.

I can't remember who it was army88 but one comic on here once claimed that watching Weghorst trying to trap a ball was like chucking a golf ball onto a trampoline!

    And he's a Dutch international.
