Gawthorpe Black Hole got a bit lighter last night

Well done to our Under 18s last night who defeated QPR at Loftus Road in the 4th Round of the FA Youth Cup.
It was a decent game with both teams hitting the woodwork in the second half and QPR missing a real chance.
Prior to that, the first half was drawing to a close, in fact, we were in added time when Rohan Vaughan scored our first goal from the edge of the box.
JUst two minutes into the second half we were two up when Murray Campbell slotted home after a corner.
QPR, under the management of Micah Hyde, pressed hard to get back into the game but we defended well and saw the game out to earn another away tie at either Bristol City or Charlton, who are yet to play.

Last 16 of the FA Youth Cup is not a bad achievement for an ever changing squad who have won 6 drawn 3 and lost only once in their last ten games.

Good luck to them, may their Cup run continue, but the Black Hole will, I expect, continue to exert it's pull on them. It's about 10/12 years ago now that we had two excellent youth teams in quick succession, a few of them looked very good prospects indeed to me, but none of them made it, the Black Hole got the lot of them. We can live in hope but I doubt it will be any different this time.
