    3 Days Mail A Week

    Lazy basturds.

On the other hand, less time to steal concert tickets and such like.

I'd be delighted, if I get more than 1 day a week it's unusual.

Savings of £400 million , wonder if the posties will get a decent pay rise or will it all go in to the pockets of shareholders

Public wouldn’t notice if it went to 3 days a week, but it won’t, they will go Monday to Friday letters, Monday to Sunday packets, the saving on fuel alone will be millions, and hopefully a better service for all, I’d go a bit further and charge anyone in rural areas double, they are a burden and massive cost to this great company

We have had spells on Islay of only getting our mails delivered once a week or sometimes even less resulting in getting eight letters or more delivered at the same time.
The Royal Mail could not get posties because some of the whisky distilleries were paying up to £15 per hour for full time clerical staff.

People living in rural parts of Angus including Monikie would have to travel to Dundee to collect their mail as they lived in the DD postcode area.

Don't understand how the savings will be generated. Could a postie explain please?
