A name from the past is Barry John, now unfortunately passed.

Watch a clip of him on TV. The players back then were a shadow of the lads these days in size and statue

Years ago he lived in the same area of north Cardiff as myself and I and my wife came across him several times. He was a lovely man, very
friendly. After he retired from the game he worked for the BBC in Cardiff, unfortunately he and his wife split up and he moved away.Sadly he developed problems with alcohol (Being a friend of George Best probably didn't help) and he dropped away from the rugby scene and was
largely ignored by the media.Very sad,a great talent.

Barrie, he used to spend a lot of time in the Halfway on Cathedral Road( probably too much time), before getting the bus home later.

A joy to watch was Barry John, as were most of the Wales team back then. One of the all time great sports teams that Welsh Rugby team, and that's coming from an Englishman who loves nothing better than to see Wales lose, at anything.

You’ll see them lose at HQ this weekend for sure. England by 10-15 points I reckon

Of course I hope so Mal, but I'm not convinced, they were looking at a 34-17 win against Italy with over 80 minutes gone, but walked off with a 27-24 win. If they piss-fart about against Wales like that they'll come a cropper.

    "Piss-fart?"
