I noticed that this week Madge had her 64th top ten single over a 35 year career,this is amazing especially in today’s digital world where if you get enough YouTube views or whatever you don’t even have to release a single to get into the top ten but it got me thinking,when Madonna first started out she was in direct competition with Cyndi Lauper who has only had four top ten hits,arguably Lauper was the better talent in my eyes but fell behind early on whilst Madge stormed her way through the 80’s,90’s and 2000’s,I know that you rate Cyndi as highly as I did Frank so what went wrong for her,she could have been massive,she certainly was better looking and in the top ten there’s enough room for both artists so why did Cyndi fail and Madge flourish?

Lauper lacked a bit of stage presence, shes attractive but portrays herself as your sister larking around. Madonna sold herself as a *** toy, not only to men but to women too, she went through a lesbian phase purposely just to sell records. Maddonnas music hasnt lasted, its more predictable than Laupers, most of it is boring now.

I still put Lauper on late at night on youtube, the team behind her picked the right stuff, i recently watched her being interviwed by Johnny Carson, shes funny too.

She used to use a long pole with a hand on the end to tap people on the shoulder with, my type of gal, never a full moment. Unlike Maddina, when she was married to Guy Richie she still pulled the superstar crap with him.

I would have laughed and got a divorce. He did eventually.
