    Fixture release date...

Wednesday June 26th is the date for your calendars. On mine already. Pick out which games I want to come over for. Scrap any on international weekends. Scrap any that might be picked by Sky for broadcasting at daft o'clock on Sillyday. Book my flight for the 1 remaining home game in the next 2 months

Reading elsewhere something that, if true, warms the cockles of my heart. Before the big kick off, it seems Sky will be announcing ALL to be televised EFL games up to the week of the FA Cup 3rd round. That means I'll know, hopefully mid July, what games are being moved. I can pick midweek games. I can do consecutive home games Tue/Sat or vice versa. Skip games on international weekends just to be on the safe side.

My august flights may well be expensive (or should I say more so than the others) but my other trips can be booked well in advance and at good rates. idem ditto hotels. That might even see me able to do more games than usual. That would be a win.

That's good they are announcing them early, expecting lots of disruption.

They do have a habit of changing games, especially later on as the season progresses and the performance of teams is able to be assessed.

What will happen looks crystal clear in the EFL page showing how much notice there will be. In the week following fixture release day, all broadcasts for August and September will be released.

Before August the 10th, broadcasts between 1 September and the New Year games will be announced. (Weekend after that is 3rd round FA Cup).

November 1, all broadcasts from begin January up to the 1st weekend of March.

February 1st, all broadcasts for the 4 weeks starting after the 1st weekend in March. 4 weeks later the next 4 week tranche and so on every 4 weeks. This will almost certainly avoid them changing their minds in March, April and May (if there are any May matches...)
