    70’s snacks…

C’mon which was your favourite back in the day?

Texans,Mintolas,Bar Six,Cabanas,Cadburys Wildlife bars with there animal wrappers, rum or strawberry flavoured Aeros,Aztecs and my personal favourites Bitz bars, bloody loved em and let’s not forget hedgehog flavoured crisps or those snacks that came in a black bag with skeletons on them (Bones)

I would love to go back to ‘75 to the corner shop in Daybrook with a quid to spend

Broke a tooth slowly chewing on a Texan bar. I preferred the 60s stuff; sherbet fountains, black jacks, bazooka joes, fruit salads. Oh, ans a walnut whip, after you’d chucked the walnut away.

None of that tooth rotting sweet crap for me.

If we're talking snacks, I'll go with:

    - bacon sandwich,
    - sausage sandwich,
    - egg and bacon sandwich,
    - egg and sausage sandwich,
    - sausage roll,
    - scotch egg,
    - mince and onion pie (especially if made on darts night by the late Ida Nicholson),
    - steak pie,
    - pickled egg with cheese crisps (at the Haywain),
    - cornish pasty (at the Haywain).

For those not knowing the locations, Hayton and Little Corby.

What the bleeding hell are you on about howoldboy and blackdogblue, bleeding cheese n pickles and bacon sandwiches?

Griffs got the idea,I’m talking about back in the day when life was more simple,no mortgage,no work and jumpers for goalposts, chocolate bars from the machine outside the newsagents that gave you a free one with every fourth turn, single wrap bounty bars and gobstoppers that you nearly chocked on because they was that big, sweets that looked liked fags and tobacco with pirates on the packet, football cards with bubbly in and bazooka joes

Bloody cheese n pickle n bacon rolls!
