Who pays costs for these appeals? hope it's not legal aid.

Watching TV and some do gooder, liberal/leftie journo making a point that Begum at age 15/16 didn’t have the maturity, experience or common sense to make up her own mind at the time when she went off to join ISIS. At least the other panellist made the point that if that’s the case why are the parties left of centre including the SNP pushing for lowering the voting age to 16. Even more to the point Begum at 16 was described as aforementioned, clueless and unable to understand her own mind or make informed decisions but Greta Thunberg at the same age was regarded as a font of all knowledge, listened to intently and treated as a well balanced informed ‘adult’. Strange…….!

They want it any way that suits their narrative at any particular point in time and on any given topic.

Eight year old boys can decide they're girls and can be given life altering (or destroying IMO) drugs. But any sane adult who challenges that decision is branded a transphobe, bigot or told they simply don't understand. Too fkn right, any sane adult couldn't understand that sort of nonsense.

So a lawyer/solicitor can just keep appealing decisions made by the courts to line their own pockets?

I have always maintained that all these lawyers/solicitors who appeal these clear guilty cases should be made to pay a bond (say £50,000) if they are to appeal,if they lose the appeal they lose their bond as well. Wouldn't see so many appeals then.

Good plan. The solicitors would insist on getting that bond from their clients, because they wouldn't pay it themselves, and that would be that - appeal dead in the water.

So if you are wrongly found guilty you will need to get money (say £50000) to appeal. Would you get away with delaying payment then eventually paying 6p for every £1
