I do not want a British Football League.
If Celtic and Rangers joined the English league or if the Scottish and English leagues were merged, then people would wrongly think Scotland was part of of England. Plus all Scottish trophies won, would be given the status of lower tier trophies, while all the English trophies in history would be seen as forerunners of the British trophies. SO teams like Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Hibs, and Aberdeen would be reset to ZERO domestic trophies won.
A better alternative would be cross border cups on top of domestic and European footy.
So a North Atlantic League Cup with Scottish and other nation's club sides. Be that England, Wales, Northern Ireland Eire, Switzerland, Belgium, Iceland, Poland, the Netherlands, the USA, Canada, Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Denmark, Sweden, Norway etc;
Scottish sides play South African sides in rugby. So why not Scottish sides v other nation's club sides.
UEFA allow Northern Irish and Welsh sides In the Scottish Challenge Cup.
The SPFL could be reorganised to less League games with a 16 team 30 game premier.
