Thread: Sheffield Wednesday Post Match Thoughts

People seem to think there is a plethora of untapped managerial talent that WANT the Rotherham job and that it is in fact an attractive proposition.

    No.

We were reaching out to candidates and they turned us down.

LR was way down the pecking order and being out of work so long means the 72 also don't want him.

We took him because we literally had no choice.

    Managers talk.

Managers know at RUFC you will not get the tools to do the job.

They also know that you'll be joining an old boys club of aged white male cronies who are always right and it will be you that is wrong when you don't get results.

Icky and Smudge left because they saw RUFC for what they are. Warney initially blinded by feeling like a fraud saw RUFC for what they are and left. We stayed up last season purely on how good a start we had.

Evans and Warne built a culture of identity. That's gone. MT ripped it up. We need it back.

But more than that the backroom staff have to go. The boardroom need fresh faces, new modern ideas.

It says it all that the man who oversaw us getting nothing for Josh Vickers and Cheo, and presided over the most untalented, overpaid overpriced squad we've had in decades was promoted to director of football.

RUFC is dead in its current format.

But it's OK. We rent a nice ground

Season's end can't come soon enough for me. Especially after today.
That,in my opinion,is exactly what has happened. LR is his own caretaker until he starts the job in May. Very similar situation to when Paul Warne took over but because Warne was appointed from within, there is a different perception and expectation to LR.

Wonderful footballer and completely a class above those around him, clucas would have been good in his day but we wouldn’t have got him then. Tiehi shows you what is possible for half a million, and that is unfortunately the issue. TS did not back the manager in January, clearly a decision was it was too late, we got one decent player in rinomhota the other two were pure last minute desperate attempts to deflect yet again away from the lack of support. Wyke is like an old L2 lump that turns slower than an oil tanker, the poor lad from the blades can’t get 90 minutes and we signed a right back when we had already done that by bringing back kioso. Let us not forget that we sent out 5 players during the window to cut costs. January window is like so much of Rotherham at the moment, limited investment, deflection away from the reality. I suspect those that say TS is started to cover his losses get through the centenary and then slip away into the night might be correct, but when the carpets are lifted from his time at the club, how rotten will the floor boards be?.

All the players and staff that have gone voluntarily went to bigger clubs for more money. Anyone in football would choose the Owls over us, especially with a big pay rise.
Don't remember the training facilities being an issue before this bad run of results. Owls fans don't appear to be moaning about their owner at the moment because they're winning a few matches.

"Don't remember the training facilities being an issue before".Really?.When Warnock was here, he told TS that the the training ground was totally inadequate, since then each manager has stressed the urgency of this major problem but there has been no improvement.Take the blinkers off Jock.
