Jim Spence in his Courier column mentioning 'rumours of interest from the likes of Brighton' So is the same rumour as above but clubs mixed up or maybe something different.

You'd think he'd be a bit sharper than that though surely?

I hope it isn't the same kind of thing as the present. A new owner comes in, splashes the cash then gets fed up and wants out. Can we not have a local consortium that will be sensible and see United as a long-term club instead of a plaything? A board of directors who each have a percentage of ownership, who will protect the club from running into debt and secure the future for generations to come.

From what I've just read on Tek,the Brentford owner sounds absolutely nothing like Ogren.

Local owners can be a disaster too - just look across the road …

I think the Brentford owner has a good track record, if he is interested I don’t know

At least it would be someone who knows football in charge

I'd rather Ogren stayed another decade than have local consortium running it tbh, plus think he listened and got rid of TA etc, Capuano seems to be doing OK, have backed Goodwin enough for this season and they've been sensible with recruitment overall since the summer while cutting costs

We need an owner who has a bit of money like now, can't say Ogren hasn't put money in, and credit to him, prefer the likes of an owner like the Brentford guy than some local group of fans, just has disaster and infighting written all over it like we've never seen before

Given he has made it clear he wants out, 10 years of an increasingly uninterested ogren could mean a slow lingering death, he might be well intentioned, but he hasn't shown much to suggest he understands how to successfully run a club. As for pumping money in, fair doos, but if it's spent badly and puts us in a worse situation, ultimately he is culpable. There is no long term vision for the club at present as far as I'm aware.

It’s only a rumour and I personally know nothing about this except what I have read here, elsewhere and from listening to dode fox lads but ….

If this is the guy interested I’ll happily give him a lift up from Brentford myself

The Danish team he bought have won the championship 3 times and done well in Europe

Very impressive and exactly what we need

This would also represent a positive legacy for United from the Ogren family if they could pull this off
