    Surprised

Hull city’s top scorer is philogene with 8, that’s less than Asante as well. Going by other teams it looks like Asante is as good as or even better than a lot of teams this season. There’s a lot more sharing of the goals these days.
The two top scorers are for Blackburn and Plymouth who sit 16th and 17th in the league.
Asante equals Leicesters top scorer but they have three players with 10 goals. I think we should give Asante a lot of credit for leading the line, often on his own for months.

They are just stats! I like Asante especially for 300K and he’s a good squad player but not a clinical striker. My view the team is better up front now without Asante and I think he would struggle to get back in the team!

You quite rightly give Grady stick but Asante would not have scored that goal against Coventry with one touch - no way!

I like Asante but the team is now stronger with Johnstone and Weiman,

    I agree.

People talk about 20+ goals a season strikers, but very rarely do you get teams who have that type of player in this league. I mentioned on another post, the last couple of times we've been promoted our top scorers were Charlie Austin on 11 and Brunt on 13 goals. There's still 10 games (+ play offs hopefully) to go. And we're not a free flowing/scoring type of side. Asante has done well.

Asante has done very well - he cost 300K and came from Salford. I do feel the team is stronger now with Weiman and Johnstone so he would be on the bench when he returns. Maja is back in training too which is very good news.

For me, Asante is now an impact sub.

His effort is first class but I think we have better options in his best positions and clearly, playing as a loan CF is not a favoured position for his particular talents.

Can’t argue with what’s said to be honest. Proud of Asante though and think Weimann is more of a goalscorer and Johnston has definitely added something extra but a lot will be expected of him now. I suspect Carlos will have to shuffle the pack some before the end of the season.
