jury still out on Grieve IMO, coming on against that Arbroath team I think i could have made an impact

Not sure what more Grieve could have done to impress you yesterday after coming on as a sub. A goal and an assist is a pretty good showing for a sub. plus his finish was very good. Not many of our lads can put a ball away like that.

Thomson has great anticipation which won us the ball back a lot yesterday.

Sibbald played great after a few weeks of not being up to his usual high standards.

You should always judge a player on the games he starts against similarish level of opponent

Sibbald was better yesterday - Docherty was excellent. Really marshalled the team

    Whole team played well

Need to put in a strong performance at Dunfermline next and pick up the 3 points

One game at a time and we need to take care of our own business

Grimshaw is our most reliable right back but central midfield today - I agree it wasn’t great

Docherty was great and it makes Sibbald better aswell him being in the side, frees up his mind to do what he does best

Now we’ve played the same number of games as at the premature ending of 2019/20, remarkably we are only one point less than what we had at that stage and have a higher goal difference. It proves we’ve not done too much wrong this season and it’s not the players’ fault in many ways that we’re not further clear. We can’t do anything about Raith Rovers being where they are and all we need to continue doing is concentrate on our own game pure and simple. 8 games to go - 7 wins and even a draw against Rovers and it’s job done.

BUT I really want to skelp thon six fingered mob at Tannadice.

Was just about to post similar, but more detail but as your can see Raith in second have more pts than anyone in recent years including those who won the division after same amount of games apart from Utd of 19/20 and Hearts 20/21 and of course this seasons Utd

In 2019/20 when covid stopped season
    1 United p28 w18 d5 l5 gf58 ga22 pts59 gd+30
    2 Inverness p27 w14 d3 l10 gf39 ga32 pts45 gd+7
    3 Dundee p27 w11 d8 l8 gf32 ga31 pts41 gd+1

2020/21 short season playing 3 rounds
    1 Hearts p27 w17 d6 l4 gf63 ga24 pts57 gd+39
    2 Dundee p27 w12 d9 l6 gf49 ga40 pts45 gd+9
    3 Raith p27 w12 d7 l8 gf45 ga36 pts43 gd+9

2021/22 at same stage (Killie win it with 67 pts)
    1 Arbroath p28 w13 d12 l3 gf40 ga19 pts51 gd+21
    2 Kilmarnock p28 w15 d5 l8 gf36 ga19 pts50 gd+17
    3 Partick p27 w12 d9 l6 gf40 ga26 pts45 gd+14

2022/23 at same stage (Dundee win it with 63 pts)
    1 Queens p28 w15 d6 l7 gf56 fa37 pts51 gd+19
    2 Dundee p27 w13 d7 l7 gf44 ga31 pts46 gd+13
    3 Partick p28 w13 d5 l10 gf49 ga39 pts44 gd+10

    2023/24 as it stands
    1 United p28 w17 d7 l4 gf55 ga17 pts58 gd+38
    2 Raith p27 w16 d6 l5 gf48 ga36 pts54 gd+12
    3 Partick p27 w10 d10 l7 gf53 ga47 pts40 gd+6

And yes I hope we are finally at full strength when a game vs them comes around and put them to the sword in a few weeks

We won't win 7 out of 8 though
