The six week hiatus no doubt allows them to have numerous meetings and stopovers at vast expense whilst they make themselves feel important..

I can go back in my memory to 1972 and remind myself that I can’t remember Albion fans starting trouble at a home game, I can’t make the same commitment about away games other than to say I’ve never seen us do it at away matches I’ve attended.

I’ve seen Spurs in 76, Leeds in 82 and Millwall in 83 cause mayhem at our ground and the odd incident like where Chelsea fans got tickets in the Brummie Rd a decade ago but very little else.

If we were Millwall I’d understand it or if we were constantly advertising that we had “a crew” like West Ham but we don’t.

I reckon that if you did a national survey of away fans they’d say that ours is one of the safest grounds in the country to visit wearing your team colours.

Quite right.

The blame should always lie with the individual who perpetrated the crime unless a club or organisation can be proven to be negligent in its arrangements for an event.

If I was Albion I’d be taking this all the way with the FA and suing them.

The onus should be on them to prove negligence on Albion’s part.

I just can't see how playing the liquidator before the start of the game and the main incident that happened about what - 80 mins in, can be connected? The length of time between the two was too long. And I also remember the club putting out a press release a couple of days before the game asking for fans to behave themselves. That must be taken into account

Not exactly enabling the sort of family environment though is it? Thousands of blokes shouting f*ck off at the start of the game at the other end. You can’t avoid some of that, but the club know what happens when that song is played.

To the utter delight of all of the regulars I sat next to for many years I am in attendance on Saturday with my son and he’s bringing his partner’s daughter to her first ever match, she’s begged him to take her to a game.

She’s 9 years old and recently started playing football at school and loves it and so we are adding a new fan to the fold on Saturday.

Will you be gracing us with your geriatric presence at the weekend?

You are completely right. I was next to the trouble and it was complete thugs who were punching and kicking the police. No excuse for it!

In fact at away games such as Hull and Huddersfield afterwards stadium policing outside has been stepped up. On asking why, I was told due to West Brom’s supporters! At Hull they even closed the barriers to get out
( apart from the coach park ) for 10 minutes after the whistle! Reputation is horrible to shake off.

Similarly baggieal buddy, we (me and SWMBO) were close to the incident at the Smethwick/East Stand corner. Very sad to see and quite alarming for some of the youngsters alongside us. No excuse I’m afraid

But that doesn't mean it lead to or in anyway caused the trouble that happened. I would say that game was always going to have a bit of spite, and a bit of colourful language before the game wasn't really the contributory factor in the events that we're being charged for.

We’ve had a great reputation for years Leicester. It was irresponsible of the Wolves fans. It’s not as if we are Millwall is it? We are an all embracing family club. The idiot fans who did the stupid thing should be banned from attending their own matches and any West Brom fans who were out of control should be penalised too. This was nothing that could have been dealt with by any other club if it happened to them. That’s why it’s unfair. The FA are sending a message but to the wrong target.

Ripping seats out at Villa and throwing them at Villa fans - ripping seats out at Millwall - putting a Millwall fan in a coma after kicking him unconscious - smoke bombs galore in a Preston pub - trouble at Huddersfield two years running. Battles in the street with Stoke - fighting in the streets at Chesterfield. I could go on and on!

The trouble is getting worse and we have a lot of thugs! I certainly would not take my younger daughter to a match!

We have a lot of thugs and at some away games our supporters have caused loads of trouble. Ripping seats out on at least three occasions and street battles at a number of away games. Even at Huddersfield Sunday there was trouble in the town centre with a few of our thugs.

You mention Millwall but we ripped out seats at their ground and kicked a Millwall supporter unconscious.

We do deserve a big fine. I would also question pubs being open from 7am!
