The PC re-branding of Christmas into a "winter festival" was always a ridiculous idea and can't think of any Muslims for example who objected to people celebrating Christmas.

I personally don't see anything wrong at all in celebrating any culturally important or religious days, particularly if they reflect the ethnic/ religious make up of the areas they are held in and provided such events are not hijacked by extremists taking shots at those with other beliefs.

Technically I'm C of E, (in reality more an undecided mix of agnostic/atheist) but view celebrations such as Christmas, Ramadan, Chinese New Year, Passover, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Vaisakhi, Eid, Diwali or whatever as all being reflections of the country's mixed cultures and heritages. At the end of the day, they are celebrations so if they are not rammed down anyone's throat, what's the problem?
