12 month contract only I would be ok with as long as we invest heavily overall in the defence as at best he divides opinion.

He is set up to make mistakes, that’s not really his fault, some of his brainfarts this season are completely at his door. However, if he goes we are going to have to spend a fortune to replace him with someone competent if we want to play the ball out in the same way through the central defender of a three.
Are we sure we want to play that way? It seems to me SM isn't too sure which way he wants us to play, this L2 lark is all terra nova to him. It isn't too many games ago when we played one game with four at the back and were comfy with it, SM has abandoned that, gone with a three, farted about with the midfield, and now look what's happening to us, is that Baldwin's fault? Maybe he's an excellent player in a defensive four but naff in a three? The same question could be asked about the other defenders, so why reduce numbers in defence and not realise your mistake and rectify it? Eh? eh? eh?

Maynard may just be experimenting with systems and personnel to get ready for next season so he clearly knows who he wants and doesn’t want. Nothing else to play for this season so may well work towards next…..some decent result and performances wouldn’t go amiss though.

Players are still giving everything, which says a lot about what they think of the manager to be fair.
