    I saw him at the Reading Festival in the early 80s and he held the audience in the palm of his hand.
    It was mesmerising.

    Only just found out that today after listening to the Paul Gambaccini Collection that Make me smile (Come up and see me) was about sacking Cockney Rebel and forming a new group,I suspect that I’m not the only one to think that it was about a girl,similarly the song How Long by Ace was also about former band members leaving which for years I thought was about a girl,even at my ripe age I love leaning new stuff about old songs
