In the aftermath of that cruel defeat for Wales last night against Poland, penalties deciding the tie where ninety minutes and extra time could not separate the teams, it’s back to the domestic scene this Easter weekend.
Good Friday the Swans travel to South Yorkshire to play second from bottom club Sheffield Wednesday with both teams seeking the points for relegation safety.
Don’t be fooled by the Owls position in the table and their 6-0 hammering from Ipswich last time out. They’ve been on a mini revival recently under manager Danny Röhl, having won five of their last eight matches, whilst the rest were defeats to the top three in the table, Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich. They’ve won twelve matches this season, only one less than us, more draws for us making up the nine points we are ahead of them.
It’s so tight at the bottom of the table with only seven points and seven teams separating us from a relegation spot. No time to relax then with QPR, another team below us, at home on Easter Monday. They’ve only lost one of their last six away matches.
Swans, buoyed by their win over rivals Cardiff last time out, will hopefully continue their recent good form. Centre-back Cabango has been out injured and missed the win over Cardiff and the call up for the Wales matches. No word on his recovery yet but Darling, who deputised for him had a good game against the Bluebirds.
Given the status quo two draws would bring from the next two matches, I would take that in our quest for safety. Avoiding defeat is paramount.

Disappointing from Swansea today and they were lucky to come out of this match with a draw.
Once again the Fulton/Grimes partnership failed to create much.
At the end of the day a draw is a good result.

Only Rushworth and goalscorer Lowe came out of this with any credit. Don’t know why, after a two week break, they were lethargic and laid back. How many times did Wood put his foot on the ball and slow the game down, were they playing for the draw?
Grimes and Fulton in midfield does not work no matter how many times it’s tried. When Allen comes on the game changes, but he was sub once again, is he being saved for Monday’s match with two games in three days being too much for him?
Also our wingers were nullified by Wednesday’s defence cutting out our attacking options.
We’ll have to play a lot better on Monday to get anything.

Hi boys, a poor match, both teams making mistakes, Swans playing their sleep walking football again, too many Easter Eggs? Should have been in top form after a two week break. Undeserved but welcome draw in the end.
