I think the fact Tiehi says his season is over but LR says it hasn't been decided yet due to differing opinions tells you that some players even our better ones are not enjoying being here or playing. Add to that the ongoing training ground issues that are totally unacceptable and that blames lands firmly at TS, why wouldn't you pay and rent facilities else where rather than turn up at a training ground that is unfit. The players won't try or put effort in if the pitches are so bad that serious injury could result. LR cannot be blamed for the fact we have facilities that a L2 team wouldn't accept. Why would you come to Rotherham as a player in the summer if you know that the club don't value you enough to give you the proper tools to do your job, but don't worry TS says they do have showers now and a can****.
Stubbs had a relatively blank canvass,or at least the chance to build a squad,LR hasn’t had that yet.he”s dealing with two layers of players from previous managers..I see it more of a warne after jackett era so we will see what happens in the coming season and then we can judge him..nobody can really say they expected warnes first full season to turn out like it did,I certainly didn’t.
He has mentioned bringing staff in,he is clearly not happy with the set up and I think he is referring to the medical team the most…
I”d say judge him on next season and having more experience than when warne took over, some players might not like him or his methods that’s life.if he gets the players he wants he could be a different proposition.theres one thing for sure I don’t think Swiss will dispense with him anytime soon.so we are where we are..
Well said Clarkey.
I don't understand why anyone can write Richardson off given the utter shambles he inherited from Taylor and the fact that he hasn't had a chance to bring his own people in yet.
If he is such a bad manager you have to wonder how he was able to beat us to become League 1 champions a few seasons ago?
I don't know whether he'll prove to be what we need to turn the club round but I'm not prepared to judge him until he's had the opportunity to make some major changes.
Agreed.
Part answer why he was able to beat us and steer his team to the league 1 championship. The budget. He had a very healthy budget that season.
Still an achievement because he had to build from scratch and there were some big clubs in the division. He won't have anything like that budget here. Rotherhams wage budget that season was circa £6.5m.

Phoenix 2021 Limited, the registered company trading as Wigan Athletic Football Club, has published the financial results of accounts for the 2021/2022 campaign, with the period ending 30 June 2022.
The financial results for the Club were delivered to Companies House and The EFL, in line with the footballing authority's reporting requirements for the Championship. It covers the period of our 2021/22 League One promotion-winning season in a year which was the Club's first full season after coming out of administration.
The Key Performance Indicators for the year include:
Turnover: £8.3 m
Staff Costs: £(13.0)m
Operating Loss: £(10.5)m
Profit on sale of players: £2.8 m
Net Loss before Tax: £(7.7)m
League Position: 1st
Average Attendance: 10,343
Exactly. His budget was bigger, but it's not like he was operating like Wrexham, dragging players in from 2 divisions above, and although it was a decent budget, it's still relatively modest and required a solid leader to get the team playing well enough to consistently best 23 other teams, some of whom also had healthy budgets.
This season was written off a long time ago, and getting the best - or even near to that - from players who aren't staying or have little to fight for, is a pretty unique job. Give him the summer, hopefully backed reasonably well, and let him start with his own men playing to a system he wants, and ideally with 10,000 fans on his side, rather than his back.
We were fishing in an extremely depleted pool. Our first 4 choices are doing just as badly in their respective/chosen roles from what I can see. Maybe one of them would have done better with the sh!t show LR was presented, maybe not.
Having said that I'm not convinced he's the man for us and wish TS would cut him loose and start planning for next season. However, on the flip side of that, what's to suggest we would do any better next time around, especially if we were in the mix with ~20 other clubs chasing a new manager for 2024-25.
