    Operation day.

At 7.00am this Friday morning I enter The Priory Hospital for the left knee surgery.

I’m not bothered about the actual op but about the outcome, if it doesn’t work my running days are over and potentially my long walking days.

If this one goes okay I’m then left to decide if I have a major reconstruction of my right knee in a couple of months for what they call a “microfacture” procedure which is a really big job that’ll invalidate me for six weeks and take a further six months to rehab from.

Big day today, if I haven’t posted by teatime Friday I died on the table.

DaveyP…….Ive left your season tickets on my mantelpiece just in case mate! 😏😩

I'll do a 10K run in your memory this Good Friday morning Mick.
Although it may kill me I'll do it for my internet Baggie mate.....your welcome.
And may your surgeon not have been drinking last night.
    All the best....

I had a left knee replacement op. eight years ago, a wonderful Golden Wedding Anniversary present, no regrets following years of severe pain and walking on sticks

The op itself and recovery doesn’t bother me Tony, the only stress is the needle going in to my hand, I really don’t like that bit.

Oh…..and these hospital pants FFS! 😩

The needle is a killer when it goes in like a knife cutting a joint of beef 😭

Best wishes for your op. Mick and for a good recovery afterwards. I'm sure the end result will be well worth it
