    Anyone else still playing?

I had my first proper outdoor training session since 2019 (COVID and other health issues!) and should be “competitively” kicking a ball again in a couple of weeks.

My squad number has gone from 9 to 6 to 16 to 18 and is now 22.

I’m Archie Very Gray, although I’ve often played in goal (hence my unhealthy interest in Leeds m/w goalkeeper shirts).

Might be a bit wary about too much heading or full throttle diving at feet as I basically stopped playing because of concussion issues before but, well, I was asked to play again. Eejits is as eejits do.

Anyone else out there still playing (I think Spaldy might be?) or have most of you (sensibly) hung up your boots?

Not really played since school days, my only claim to fame scoring from a corner, which I did try for as it was a fairly windy day and it swung in like a banana. All down hill from there, partially down to an American PE teacher who had us playing Basketball, sadly we were the only school in the area to do so but others did follow soon after. Same guy was selling us Converse training shoes (not sure the headmaster knew), pity I didn't put a pair to one side they would probably we worth a few quid today.

Finished playing at 38, I’m now 60 and 2 years ago agreed to play with my brother in a parents v youth under 18’s side, made a run to the penalty area then found I was knackered and couldn’t run back, my mind was splaying passes around like Johnny Giles, my body told me the complete opposite.

Forgot to mention, I beat my grandson a couple of years back in a one on one, but he's seven now so I won't try that again

Still playing 060. Still some skill on the squads. Everything move like it’s slow motion! The other thing noticeable is how much bitching at the rest goes on. When you can’t make the play anymore then you blame it on the ref!

Would be keen to see some evidence of Totty playing.
