I'd honestly like to say I agree, but how much did Joseph contribute (and he had a decent amount of time and some other fresh legs around him)?

Apart from Summerville (who really does need to get the concept of passing into his play), we don't have anything like a conventional attack, just some players who can (occasionally) string a few passes together.

Would Joseph had missed the 2 bamford chances had he been in the same position?

Maybe, maybe not, we will never know, but he was hardly mentioned after he came on when he had plenty of time to make a difference (Piroe may have been wasteful and inaccurate but he tried to make that difference and got a goal back).

Opportunity wasted by Joseph in a match where his contribution might have been season defining (in a good way!)

Might as well let someone else have a go at missing sitters and Bamford's all round play has been pretty average of late.

Agreed, but I'm just not sure Joseph is the best alternative. With our present situation (see the Playoffs thread), why not delve into the young squads or so call Gelhardt, Anthony, ring the changes, we can't be worse than 6th now so guaranteed a playoff place.

Stick for now. Joseph looks capable though and things not gone well for Paddy last few games although he's not the only one.
I agree with what Farke is doing with them at the moment, or at least understand why.

Seems we’ve been having this bamford conundrum talk for the past 4 seasons, and yet he’s still our main striker and spearheading our attack every week.

Bamford does a lot of work off the ball in the middle to last third which goes unseen on camera and makes space for others.

Against that he is a generally poor finisher, lacks physical ability to ‘get stuck in’, lacks pace, tends not to make runs in the box and is unreliable at converting chances.

Joseph is young, hungry, has pace and lots of physicality and scores strikers goals. He also creates opportunities - for example, he was involved in the Piroe goal yesterday.

Seems a no brainer to everyone but those who pick the team.
